  • Smriti Irani

Smriti Irani, representing the BJP, is contesting from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. Amethi was once a Congress stronghold before Smriti won the Lok Sabha election in 2019, defeating Rahul Gandhi. This time, she faces Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma. Smriti lost to Rahul Gandhi in 2014 by 1 lakh votes but won in 2019 by 55,000 votes.

Rajnath Singh of the BJP is contesting from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for the third time. He faces Samajwadi Party candidate Ravidas Mehrotra. Rajnath won against Poonam Shatrughan Sinha in 2019 with 6.3 lakh votes and against Congress’s Rita Bahuguna Joshi in 2014 with 2,72,749 votes. He is favored to win again.

  • Karan Bhushan Singh

Karan Bhushan Singh, son of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, is contesting from Kaiserganj, Uttar Pradesh, for the BJP. He replaces his father, who faces multiple criminal accusations. Karan Bhushan is the President of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association and Chairman of a Cooperative Bank in Gonda.

  • Rohini Acharya

Rohini Acharya, daughter of former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad, is contesting from Saran, Bihar, for the RJD. She faces BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who won the seat in 2014 and 2019, defeating Rabri Devi and Chandrika Rai, respectively.

Chirag Paswan, national president of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), is contesting from Hajipur, Bihar. He faces RJD’s Chandra Ram. The seat was held by Ramvilas Paswan in 2014 and Pashupati Kumar Paras in 2019.
